Mobile Mapping — Survey at Road Speed

MMS integrates LiDAR, cameras, GNSS, and IMU on a vehicle platform to capture 3D data while driving at normal speeds — ideal for highways, rights-of-way, and urban asset inventory.

Who needs this?

DOT agencies, utility corridor programs, municipalities mapping signage and pavement, and firms doing city-scale digital twins where drone coverage alone would take too long.

Accuracy expectations

Typical absolute accuracy in open sky: roughly 2–5 cm — degrades in urban canyons and under bridges where GNSS multipath increases. Plan for control overlays where needed.

Drone vs truck

Drones excel at limited areas and vertical faces; trucks excel at linear miles and consistent lane-centered coverage. Many projects combine both.
